Clients are seen as unique and whole. Not only does this include physical wellbeing, but it also expands into other areas including emotional, mental, spiritual, professional, financial, social, and environmental wellbeing. When one area is off it can impact all the others and throw us off balance. Coaching is intended to help people achieve more balance, calm, and peace over time.
The coaching space is safe and confidential. Whether virtual or in person, clients are listened to, without judgment, so they can authentically share their wellness challenges and aspirations. For some people, it may feel strange to NOT be told what to do in a session. Through practice, clients learn to trust in their own wisdom as they make decisions on how to navigate their health and wellbeing.
Clients are empowered to reconnect with their values, strengths, and passions. This is often the missing link, or the obstacle, when setting goals that lead to meaningful and lasting changes. It can be challenging to accomplish goals that are not aligned with one's unique purpose. Wellness coaching helps you get there.
Wellness plans are customized and client-directed. Clients determine their intentions, goals, and often define a short and long-term wellness vision. They may schedule as many sessions as they feel they need in support of their health and wellbeing journey. Some clients may be new to coaching and some may have more experience with the process. Regardless, wellness coaching consistently incorporates mindfulness, creative activities, and a holistic perspective to empower each person to navigate and move forward in their wellness journey.
Health and Wellness coaching acts as a bridge between conventional and integrative, holistic care - both important components of your health and wellbeing. An evidence-based practice, coaching considers all aspects of wellness which often focuses on lifestyle changes and prevention to support your wellness goals.
The practice of coaching is not prescriptive, and instead focuses on motivating you to make changes that come from your own wisdom. It acknowledges that you are more than just your physical symptoms in an attempt to help you heal on a holistic level.
Client Reflection
As your coach, I will not get in your way, but I will help you clear your path. You may identify opportunities for change and obstacles that are in the way of your desired health and wellbeing goals. Sometimes these obstacles can show up in your beliefs on how you think you SHOULD do something, instead of how you WANT to do something. You may have been trying to make changes in your life that are not aligned with your values, strengths, and passions. It can be challenging to stick to goals that don’t feel good to you. Coaching helps you navigate and achieve meaningful and lasting wellness changes - in your way.
My purpose is to support and guide you in each session. I provide a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental space for you to share and explore any aspect of your health and wellbeing. I will listen deeply and mindfully with compassion and empathy. I will share insights and reflections to help you tap in to your own wisdom as you move forward in your health and wellness journey. Coaching is a space to expand your awareness and build trust in yourself by practicing mindfulness and self-compassion in and out of session. This is the beauty of coaching.
I incorporate a holistic, mind-body approach that helps you connect with all aspects of your life that together make you whole. These aspects fall under the categories of emotional, physical, mental, spiritual, professional, financial, social, and environmental wellbeing (there may be other aspects that you identify). In each session, I offer an optional meditation practice with a focus on breathing, imagery, or light movement. The coaching tools and activities I use are creative, fun, and intuitive. I help you practice being non-judgmental and compassionate toward yourself so that what you learn in session can be applied in your daily life.
As the client, you determine your intention, topics, and goals that support your wellness vision. I provide support and guidance, but will not tell you what to think, how to feel, or what to do. You decide what health and wellbeing information is relevant to share in each session. I offer meditations and creative coaching activities and tools that are optional. With your best interests in mind, I will encourage you to work on goals and to stay focused on your intentions in each session.
Through coaching, you may identify areas in your life where you need more support. If you feel you may benefit from the care of another healthcare or integrative provider, I can help you explore your options. Perhaps there are support groups or other community resources that may provide comfort and inspiration in your journey. You may decide to explore meditation and other mindfulness practices. Sometimes you may ask me for resources or referrals, and other times I may ask if I can share some with you. Your health and wellness tool kit will expand!
